The Cheltenham Billiards and Snooker Club (CBSC) was established in 1906 initially as means to curb hooliganism amongst the youths of Cheltenham. There is an interesting article on this at the following link Larrikins and Hooligans at Cheltenham | Kingston Local History.
The Club now boasts four full size snooker tables which are reclothed every 12-18 months and are considered to be amongst the best tables in Melbourne. The CBSC is open to members from 6:30am to 11:00pm daily.
More than half of our members compete in either or both CBSC snooker and billiards teams in several leagues; Victorian Billiards and Snooker Association Pennant, Metropolitan Billiards and Snooker Association, RSL and Southern Billiards and Snooker Association.
