The Cheltenham Billiards and Snooker Club is passionate about supporting and encouraging the participation of women and we believe we currently have more female members than any other Victorian club.

Larry Eforgan, Victorian Director of Referees and life member of the Victorian Billiards and Snooker Association, labeled the Cheltenham Billiards and Snooker Club as the home of women’s billiards and snooker. We have hosted the Ruby Roberts Victorian Women’s Billiards Championship for the past 4 years and in 2025 we also hosted the Victorian Women’s Snooker Championship. We are hoping to continue to host these two events for many years to come.

We are also very proud to be one of the homes of the Women’s Billiards and Snooker Network Inc. This recently formed association is working very hard to increase female participation in cue sports and we encourage everyone to visit the WBSN web page https://www.wbsn.com.au/ to learn more about the great work they are doing.

There is great camaraderie amongst the women players, and the Cheltenham Billiards and Snooker Club takes great pride in nurturing an environment to further encourage this. We provide lunch for the women and an atmosphere in which they can socialise and get to know each other better.

In 2023 we initiated a new ‘OneforSeven’ event for Victorian women which is now proudly known as the Tammy Lindrum Cheltenham Women’s 147 Invitational. This event is the only women’s event in Victoria that offers prize money, and thanks to the generosity of our sponsors (see below) the prize money has grown from $950 to $2300 in just three years. The Victorian Billiards and Snooker Association has also supported the event by providing referees and a tournament director.
